Distorting the truth Mr. Brown? - No. It is the Gahmen who cannot handle the truth
Recently, local celebrity blogger Mr Brown received a Scud missile from some press secretary... I can't remember the name (or I would be joining the other bloggers and netizens in cursing and swearing under their breath) for supposedly "distorting" the truth. The Brown article and the Spanish Inquisition style comment by that press secretary (I hope he makes huge donations soon to help avert the bad karma) can be found in this link.

Well, truth be told is that, it is the government who cannot handle the truth - the fact that most Singaporeans are really quite fed up.
I cannot believe that there is no suppression of information, particularly of bad news before the GE. The obvious one was how PTC pushed back their review of the transport fares to July. Because the ruling party distracted everyone, even the opposition with the Gomez saga, nobody, even the opposition was bringing up issues like these. Now, I seriously think that their harping on the Gomez issue was not a mistake afterall. It could well be a calculated attempt to divert attention from serious issues which the ruling party would find difficult to defend.
I am too lazy to take the press secretary's argument apart and refute it piece by piece but one thing I was damn irritated with was how this fella argued that Brown should not criticize when he did not suggest alternatives. What is wrong with a citizen exercising his right to air his unhappiness over an issue that directly affects him and those around him? If Brown has solutions and alternatives for everything, why on earth do we need to pay those big wig ministers with their oh so fantastic credentials millions of dollars a year? And now that I think of it, even when we are told that our ministers are the best of the bestest around and we need to pay them such big sums to get them to make such big sacrifices to serve the nation; they could not solve the pressing problems, like how our poor are getting poorer. But then again, we Singaporeans probably deserve all these. We vote them in afterall.
