Saddam executed quickly because ...
MOSCOW — The execution of Saddam Hussein was rushed to prevent the former Iraqi leader from revealing facts that could compromise the United States, former Russian Prime Minister Yevgeny Primakov said yesterday.

Saddam was executed in an "unexpected" way so "he could not have the last word" and reveal compromising information on the relationship between the US and his former regime, the veteran diplomat said on television. If Saddam "had said everything", "the US President (George W Bush) would have been greatly embarrassed", said Mr Primakov. — afp

One key reason that this is not implausible is that the USA was openly supporting Saddam's regime in the war between Iraq and Iran through the supplies of weapons and technology. Just like how the USA was supporting the Mujahadeen fighters and what became the Taliban later during USSR's invasion of Afghanistan.

If Saddam had been allowed to say it all, he might even reveal that he had sought the Americans' permission before he gased the Kurds.

Saddam: "Mr. President, I am making this call to let you know that, I might decide to use gas on those troublesome Kurds.. that is if you don't have any violent objection."

President USA: "Look, I don't really want to know all these and I don't really care what you do to non-Americans, just finish off those fanatics in Iran alright?"

No surprise here given that everyone with eyes wide open can see how despicable and hypocritical the White House have always been.
