The Most Difficult Person
Who is the most difficult person for you to live with? Is it your enemy? Your mother-in-law/ father-in-law? Your boss?
I would think that the most difficult person for one to live with is oneself. Don't believe? Let's ask the character of Tom Hanks in the movie "Castaway". Or perhaps since it is fictional, we can try asking those people in solitary confinement. These are people who have nobody to live with except themselves. They have no one to talk to and listen to except themselves. And how many people can stand that? Sure, there are like those hermits living in the Wudang Mountain who aspire to be living immortals through a self-imposed exile and strict regime of meditation and some form of qigong (saw this on National Geographic). But these people are certainly not your average folks on the street.
It is in the nature of human to crave companionship because we are all programmed to be social creatures. Because of this "programming" and our need to be in the company of other humans, I think that one of the saddest way to die would be to die alone, forgotten and without notice...
